In all our partnerships with universities we aim for the very best and focus on the areas that will change the shape of our industry in the years to come.
We are helping to structure research into smart infrastructure and cities, supporting the University of Cambridge in the development of a Centre of Excellence for Smart Infrastructure and working with the Department of Environmental Analytics at Reading to investigate the use of big data in the built environment.
We have also established new opportunities for teachers to continue their professional development in workshops that use the Designing our Tomorrow (DOT) toolkit we’ve developed with the University of Cambridge.
Explaining why PBA is supporting this programme, Managing Partner Paul Reilly said that it had the potential “to transform attitudes towards learning maths, science, and design, break down some of the prevalent gender-bias attitudes and help the UK to meet head-on the current skills challenges it is facing.”
"With PBA we have a partner that shares our passion to transform STEM education. PBA has been instrumental in supporting the development of our Designing Our Tomorrow resources for schools. With them, we share a desire to bring authentic engineering challenges to the heart of the learning experience and they continue to work with us as we roll them out into schools."
We have also developed our graduate programme through the Peter Brett Foundation, providing 33 work experience placements and an additional 28 summer/industrial placements. Our ongoing support for the ICE QUEST scholarship programme has also seen us sponsor further education for students in 2015.
