UK – Peter Brett Associates is working with Homes England to accelerate the delivery of housing across the UK.
As part of government housing initiatives, Homes England is leading the drive to increase the scale and pace of construction to get more homes built now. Local authorities have proposed thousands of sites suitable for development via an accelerated delivery programme and several have been selected to undergo technical due diligence and development viability appraisals.
PBA have been appointed by Homes England to execute due diligence on approximately 30 sites, located in Dorset, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire. We will provide advice on planning, utilities, ecology, water management, buildings, heritage, noise, and air quality to help manage risk and assess valuation across all the sites.
Under this remit, we have recently been appointed by Guildford Borough Council to support the Slyfield Area Regeneration Project (SARP) to deliver 1,500 homes and have been commissioned to deliver an outline planning application for a key site in Swindon.
Michael Parkinson, PBA Partner, commented:
“We are proud to be working with Homes England and to be supporting their programme for the accelerated construction of housing. The Homes England framework provides the flexibility to move quickly and together, our work will make homes ready for families sooner, addressing the demand for housing across the country.”
Jeremy Coulton, PBA Associate, commented:
“Our work with Homes England is very important to us. PBA are making a real difference to communities by seeking opportunities and securing sites throughout the country, approximately 1000 dwellings are being provided through projects co-ordinated by our south west team alone.”
Homes England focuses on the release of land for housing, helping to create successful communities by making homes and business premises available to those who need them. PBA was appointed to the multidisciplinary framework as a lead consultant from 2014–2018. Appointing us through the framework helps the public sector save time and money on projects, including major development, due diligence, estate renewal and refurbishment.
