New Development Planning Director for PBA in Scotland

30 June 2015

GLASGOW - PBA is delighted to welcome Stefano Smith as Director of Planning to our Glasgow office.

We have a significant presence in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, with an additional 17 offices around the UK offering services across the full project lifecycle; from initial concepts and feasibility through to construction and operation.

Stefano joins PBA following three years as a technical director (Planning and Environment) at Amec Foster Wheeler, where he steered major residential developments through the planning process and acted as expert witness in planning appeals and local development plan examinations. He has also worked on a range of major infrastructure projects, including renewables, transmission and distribution and oil and gas developments. He is also Junior Vice-Convenor of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) in Scotland and an external practitioner lecturer at Heriot-Watt University’s School of the Built Environment.

“I am very much looking forward to working with PBA, which already has a robust and varied portfolio of projects in Scotland,” said Stefano. “This is a business on the cusp of even greater success.” PBA is building a strong reputation in the transport and buildings sectors, and Stefano will play a vital role as the firm continues to consolidate its planning capabilities and expand into other sectors.

“This is an exciting time for PBA as it continues to grow its Scottish offering,” said PBA LLP Director Nick Skelton. “The Scottish Government’s plans to streamline development planning and focus on energy efficiency as an infrastructure priority will allow us to leverage our team’s multi-disciplinary strengths – and Stefano’s invaluable experience will help guide us in the right direction.”
