Alan began his career at PBA before rejoining in the Practice in 2004 and progressing to become a Director. He is currently responsible for business development activities in the South-West as well as managing the Taunton office and the Taunton Transport team.

A highly skilled engineer with 20 years’ experience of multi-disciplinary projects for both public and private sector clients, Alan has an understanding of multiple markets including employment, commercial, leisure, residential and retail. He specialises in unlocking development opportunities through innovative thinking and joining the dots between strategic planning, transport and regeneration opportunities. This has involved identifying and realising the links between public sector improvement and funding with private sector opportunities and aspirations.

Within PBA Alan has been responsible for the delivery of major development and infrastructure projects including Whiteley Town Centre, Seabrook Orchard, Plymouth City Airport Enhancement, Forder Valley, Bournemouth Airport, Drake Leisure plus many more.

Alan is skilled in many elements of project work including transport assessments, integrated transport strategies, public exhibitions, traffic modelling, detailed highway design, junction capacity analysis, liaison with local authorities and development planning support. He has also acted as an expert witness at public inquiry, local plan inquiries, informal hearings and examination in public representing a range of developers.
