Clive studied Geology at the University of Nottingham and holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Geology from Imperial College, London. He also holds a PhD in Engineering Geomorphology from Royal Holloway. Clive joined Peter Brett Associates in 1997 and has been a Partner since 2006.
Clive has wide experience of carrying out geotechnical appraisals for private, public sector and commercial developments. He has been involved in major civil engineering schemes for PBA including the Channel Tunnel Rail link, HS2 and work for HCA, London Underground and the Environment Agency. Clive has proven skills in the due diligence assessments of sites and environmental impact assessments.
Clive has particular expertise in land instability geohazards and the impacts of drainage and has been called on to conduct high-profile evaluations across the length and breadth of the country. His work has been published in many technical journals, books, and professional publications. He regularly gives talks and appears as an expert witness, and is often consulted by the national media as a leading authority on sinkholes.
Clive also developed and manages the national Land Instability Databases held by PBA. He is a Chartered Geologist, a European Geologist and a Chartered Scientist.
