Glen Player joined PBA in 2016 and is responsible for leading and growing PBA’s Civils group in the South and developing PBA’s civil engineering offering across major transport construction projects.
Glen originally joined PBA in 1985 and worked in the civils team until 1989 on a range of highway engineering and infrastructure projects associated with residential and commercial developments. Since then he has gained substantial major project experience with consultants and contractors, managing and directing technical and specialist teams engaged in the delivery of complex transportation infrastructure, encompassing a range of national and local highway authority engineering, rail, highway and aviation contracts. His wealth of experience includes civil engineering and transportation projects for clients in the public and private sectors, including Highways England, the Department for Transport and Network Rail. Glen has considerable experience of working under a range of different forms of contract including bespoke D&B and DBFO contracts. He also has specialist light rail experience and led the design and supervision of the Croydon Tramlink DBFO project.
Before joining PBA, he was responsible for the management and leadership of WSP I Parsons Brinckerhoff’s civil engineering business in the South of England. Prior to that, he spent 11 years as Director of Professional Services at Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering where he was responsible for development of a professional services business through structured organic growth and acquisition. He is also a SCE for the Institution of Civil Engineers and committed to the development of young engineering talent across the business.
