Thomas joined PBA as a Director in 2014 and is responsible for managing and developing the Environmental Design & Building Services Engineering team in the Glasgow office.

His expertise includes strategic engineering services advice, full design reviews/audits, project and cost management of M&E services, sustainable design, value engineering, independent certification, energy assessment and low carbon design consultancy.

In addition to the investigation of new innovative design solutions, Thomas also promotes the use of holistic designs to minimise the energy consumption and carbon generation within the built environment. He has extensive working knowledge of energy modelling techniques and can advise on design solutions that not only meet but better the requirements of current design guidance/legislation.

Thomas has performed a wide variety of roles throughout his career to date ranging from leading M&E design teams, cost management, programme management, independent certifier and technical advisory roles for a number of private and public sector clients throughout Scotland, the UK and overseas.

His major projects include the Colindale Office development, the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion in Edinburgh, the refurbishment of Layden House and the Hasmonean School in Barnet.
