Equilibrium
A framework for sustainable development
Ever felt that your project is being pulled between the need to deliver sustainability, achieve viability and meet ever more complex planning requirements?
We have developed a robust framework designed to guide and inform our own thinking as we advise our clients. Called Equilibrium, the framework provides the tools and structure we need to balance these competing requirements. It embraces all relevant areas of consideration – from energy to transport, biodiversity to construction.
The Equilibrium process helps us to deliver projects through the planning process and construction into operation. It recognises the need to meet robust requirements for delivering projects against parameters assessed during the planning application.
The methodology embraces the challenge of uncertainty that each project faces during its implementation. Equilibrium allows us to embed flexibility in delivery, so that viability and performance are maximised over the life of the project.
Recognising the need to create transparent action plans which sit firmly within the context of the broader vision, we have designed the Equilibrium framework to cover four stages of sustainable development: vision, assessment, commitment, action.
