Healthcare

Good healthcare is an essential facet of society and we are extensively involved in the creation of both modern new facilities and the refurbishment and redevelopment of existing sites. We deliver structural, environmental, transportation and engineering services to the public and private sectors.

Refurbishment has included the assessment and remediation of asbestos, upgrading of building services, together with the movement or installation of new equipment and electronic patient record systems via planning supervisor commissions. Structural work has included advice on listed buildings, strengthening and refurbishment as well as new construction. The development of new hospitals has included environmental impact assessments and transport assessments.

Transportation accessibility audits have been carried out for Health Authorities. These identified distances to hospitals from rail stations, bus routes and underground stations and the relative frequency of these public transport modes to generate the Public Transport Accessibility Level. This allowed the development of further connections including some outside of normal operating hours of conventional public transport to assist in the Health Authority's decisions on further site redevelopment.

Our clients include: numerous NHS Trusts and Local Authorities, McCarthy & Stone, Nirvana Spa, The Hospice of St Francis, The Wellcome Trust, BUPA, private practitioners and dentists as well as pharmaceutical companies such as Zeneca.
