Peter Brett Associates Appoints New Chairman

Peter Brett Associates LLP (PBA), a leading independent, multi-disciplinary consultancy, is pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Mitchell as Chairman from 1 April, 2010.

He takes over from Steve Capel-Davies, who steps down after completing his four-year term of office. Malcolm Cleaver continues as Managing Partner.

Keith has extensive experience in the planning and implementation of transport planning and urban regeneration projects gained during his 25 years with PBA. As a strategic adviser to clients, an expert witness and innovative thinker, Keith has been instrumental in the development of PBA’s service offering and reputation as a leading sustainable development consultancy.

Keith said: “Peter Brett Associates has a strong reputation for delivering personal, trusted advice to clients, and it is a great privilege to take the helm at such an important time in the
firm’s development.

“We are in interesting and challenging times. Our clients’ needs
are evolving at an unprecedented rate as they respond to the economic climate and a fast changing policy environment. One of our key strengths is our ability to respond quickly to change, and
to use our expertise and experience to deliver effective solutions.
I am confident in our ability to unlock new opportunities that
deliver value and greater sustainability from land and infrastructure resources over the longer term, and in turn bring value to
our clients.”

“I believe focused investment in our urban neighbourhoods provides one such opportunity over the next few years. Targeted investment in our urban areas can stimulate sustainable economic growth in a cost effective way, as well as bring wider social and environmental gains. Our skills are particularly well suited to delivering value across this agenda, and we will look to apply our leadership, ingenuity and technical “know how” to deliver benefit for our clients and the communities in which we work.”

Steve Capel-Davies, who led the firm through the transition from that of a traditional partnership to Limited Liability Partnership in 2008, will continue to deploy to clients his considerable experience in river engineering, hydrology and sustainable development.
