PBA has been providing multi-disciplinary advice on major development and infrastructure projects at Filton Airfield for more than fifteen years. We've acted for both BAE Systems Plc and Bovis Homes Ltd in securing permissions for the delivery of more than 4,500 homes and 38 hectares of mixed-use employment, schools, plus ancillary social and community infrastructure on the former operational airfield.
We first helped secure planning consent for Bovis Homes Ltd at Filton Northfield, now known as Charlton Hayes, which comprised 2,200 dwellings and 14ha of commercial land. This included the design and delivery of the Hayes Way Link Road between the A38 and Cribbs Causeway which was supported by funding we successfully secured through SWRDA. The development scheme is ongoing and we continue to support the phased delivery of housing on the site.
We most recently helped secure permission for 2,675 dwellings, 24Ha of mixed employment and supporting community infrastructure the wider airfield site for BAE Systems. Our works included early feasibility and due diligence support; expert witness at Core Strategy EIP, preparation of SPD and technical assessments for the EIA supporting a planning application submission. Planning consent was granted in mid-2015 and the scheme will make a significant contribution to housing and employment provision in the West of England in the years ahead.
