Continued involvement, continued evolution

Originally unyielding agricultural land lying in a flood plain, this site had various technical issues ranging from flooding and contamination to site inaccessibility. The property owners envisioned a traditional industrial park for the site and we combined international trends with our wide variety of expertise to make this a reality.

Over the life of the project, we have provided a wide range of services including project co-ordination and management through the feasibility, pre-planning and planning stages. Our innovative flood-relief scheme overcame the project’s single biggest hurdle and formed the business park’s beautiful water features.

We carried out GreenPark’s complete infrastructure design including: on-site and off-site drainage and utilities provision, surface and foul water management and extensive highway engineering works. Environmental work included landfill gas, groundwater and contamination studies, an environmental audit and obtaining Environment Agency consents for flood-plain works.

The business park is the first stage of the GreenPark development. GreenPark Village, a sustainable new community, is planned to contain 750 homes, offices and retail facilities, a primary care facility and a school. It is also the site of the first privately financed railway station to be built in the south of England in 50 years.

Over more than a quarter of a century our advice and multi-disciplinary expertise had been fundamental to the development of GreenPark. From the original drainage strategies which allowed the site to be converted from a flood plain, to building a station for sustainable transport we have added value to move the development forward.
