Les Salines Integrates Resort Development, Les Salines, Mauritius
Energy-efficient engineering solutions
This £200m, 160ha resort development will drive economic diversification and support the island’s continued growth through tourism development. It will be both economically and environmentally sustainable.
The development vision for Les Salines is a unique destination resort, designed in harmony with the restored native coastal environment in which it will sit. The land rises from the untouched, pristine beaches to a point some 70m above sea level providing spectacular views of the lagoon and the Indian Ocean beyond.
The development of some 205 homes, an 18-hole, championship-style golf course and club house, exclusive hotel, beach club, bar and water-sports centre and tennis, spa and fitness centre is driven by a masterplan and design strategy which encompasses the regeneration of native coastal forest and the restoration of historical coastal fortifications and salt-pans.
Our engineering teams in Mauritius, South Africa and the UK developed sustainable, energy-efficient engineering solutions and have led the EIA permitting process.
The EIA granted to us was “the highest quality submission seen on the island”, according to the Ministry of Environment.
