Carbon Management
Managing carbon is an important element of a competitive business strategy. Organisations need to understand the carbon emissions from their own operations, and importantly, their supply chain. For large energy users the introduction of the carbon reduction commitment from April 2010 gives a clear incentive. For smaller energy users the long term increase in the price of fossil fuels and their customers' procurement policies requiring suppliers to 'decarbonise' means that all businesses now have to take carbon seriously.
PBA's tiered approach to carbon management starts with understanding the life cycle emissions and identifying associated climate change risks such as waste management, and energy and water consumption. By assessing these through our wide understanding of energy, environment, engineering and business processes our clients are provided with an enhanced understanding of the opportunities and costs associated with different carbon management options.
