Climate Change
The UK government is leading the world with the first mandatory carbon reduction target. The 2008 Climate Change Act requires an 80% reduction in emissions by 2050, and is putting in place a number of policies to help achieve it.
Both the private and public sectors need to understand the implications. How to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, for example by managing the carbon content of supply chains, and how a changing climate will impact on their operations and investment decisions.
Our advice includes understanding of the financial implications of climate change policy and measures, physical risks from a changing climate, and strategies to increase project values in competitive markets through climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies.
Our consultants have wide experience in meeting the challenges of climate change. Our work includes structural advice on building materials and construction techniques, designing appropriate building services systems and flood risk assessment. We also provide climate change mitigation services including energy conservation, renewable and low carbon energy solutions, carbon risk management, and low carbon transport strategies.
