PBA announces new Director appointment – Steve Rees

North – PBA, now part of Stantec, is pleased to welcome Steve Rees, as Director of Civil Engineering with particular responsibility for the North of England.

Steve joins PBA from Kier where he was a Project Director delivering major civil engineering projects including Silvertown Tunnel and HS2. Steve was previously a Project Director at Costain working on the Great Western Electrification Programme.

Prior to joining Costain, Steve was a Director at Parsons Brinckerhoff (now WSP) and was responsible for major projects in the UK and internationally, amongst other roles, including Programme Management and Nuclear New Build. He also has significant bridge engineering experience including the existing and second Severn crossings, M5 Avonmouth Bridge and the Boyne cable-stay bridge in Ireland. Steve understands the design process but moreover the linkage, leadership and communication skills required between all parties (client, contractor & consultant) and wider stakeholders to deliver successful projects.

On his new appointment, Steve said:

I am looking forward to bringing my passion and enthusiasm for delivering engineering and construction excellence to all PBA existing and new clients, acquired through having had senior roles for consultancies and contractors in the UK and internationally, including Kier, Costain and WSP and several other first-class companies.

I am also looking forward to working with my new colleagues on major national opportunities and, with Stantec’s capability and capacity, using my international project experience as we grow in Europe and further afield.”
