UK – Building on a year of notable successes for the environmental planning team, PBA, now part of Stantec, is delighted to have retained our Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) Quality Mark for our work in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for the sixth consecutive year, demonstrating PBA’s commitment to delivering excellence.
The EIA Quality Mark is a scheme that allows organisations, that lead the co-ordination of statutory EIAs in the UK, to make a commitment to excellence in their EIA activities and have this commitment independently reviewed.
PBA is a founding member of the IEMA EIA Quality Mark and was first awarded the Quality Mark in 2014. Since this time, we have continued to push best practice in EIA, spoken at conferences and events, provided value to our clients and developed and expanded our team.
Commenting on the announcement, Stefan Boss, Director Environmental Planning, said:
We’re delighted to have retained the Quality Mark again in 2019. This is a commitment we make to guarantee excellence for our clients. We hold our work in EIAs to the highest standard and the Quality Mark is proof of that.”
Over the last year, PBA has helped secure the second largest residential planning permission in the UK for Beam Park in East London, a scheme which includes 3,000 homes, a new railway station, schools and employment space.
We have also led EIAs that have resulted in permissions for 1,500 new homes in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, a landmark regeneration scheme in Maidenhead, mineral extraction in Northamptonshire, and the adoption of Local Development Orders (LDOs) for commercial-led developments in Somerset and Gloucestershire. In addition, we have supported the Millbrook power generation facility through DCO inquiry and have led the EIA for the Riverside Energy Park DCO application.
Our range of experience and the retention of the EIA Quality Mark re-affirms PBA’s status as ‘Competent Experts’, a requirement of the 2017 EIA Regulations.
