Rob is a Chartered member of the ICE with over 20 years of experience in the flood risk and water management sector. He has specialist skills in flood management, river restoration, Water Framework Directive assessment, permitting and river engineering design. Rob has a reputation for developing practical solutions for Clients to meet their specific challenges and achieve successful outcomes with the Environment Agency (EA) and other consenting authorities. He is experienced in project management, options appraisal and costing, contract production, administration and site monitoring and is fully versed and trained in CDM 2015.

As a director, Rob leads the Water Management Team in Reading as well as providing support nationally on his specialist sector knowledge. Rob has developed his team’s capabilities in watercourse restoration, delivering schemes that meet the objectives of the Water Framework Directive and provide environmental and sustainable solutions.

Rob is responsible for delivering multi-disciplinary projects in the water environment for both public and private clients. Selected projects include the development of flood management schemes for new large-scale developments at Harry Stoke and Stanton Cross, and for existing communities, such as Bucklebury, which informed the EA’s approach to partnership funding. He has designed river restoration and fish passage schemes, both restoring the natural environment and incorporating environmental enhancements within new developments. He provides water engineering input for infrastructure projects, including the Bladen Dam restoration, Blenheim Palace hydropower scheme, Christchurch Bridge and various highway schemes.

During his time with the practice, Rob spent four years on secondment to the EA delivering asset management and capital projects to provide flood risk and environmental improvements to various communities within the River Churn catchment in Gloucestershire. His longstanding experience of working with the EA means that he understands their drivers and requirements, allowing him to provide knowledgeable advice to Clients to effectively deliver their projects.
