Nearly 30 years ago, Liberty Property Trust began work on the Kings Hill development on the former site of the RAF West Malling station. The goal was to introduce recreational space, business space, and 2,750 new homes. We were appointed to complete the primary infrastructure design and are currently acting as option engineering consultants for this long-term, large-scale scheme.
The problem is, big projects like this are often affected by market trends and shifting government policies. That can lead to limited profitability—but through our team’s ability to liaise with local planning and highway authorities, we’ve managed to support the changing needs of the project while maintaining its relevance.
So far, we’ve completed approximately 8,000 metres (26,000 feet) of minor distribution and major access roads (plus their drainage and strategic utilities) as well as the Kings Hill Sports Park, where we designed the infrastructure, earthworks modelling, access road, and car park. When complete, Kings Hill will be a vibrant, mixed-use community with its own distinctive character that draws on the area’s heritage as a former airfield.
