Best known for its 100-foot high sculptures of The Kelpies – Scotland’s mythical water spirits in horse form – The Helix opened in April 2014.
The Helix was designed as an ecopark as part of the Falkirk Greenspace Initiative, transforming 350 hectares of land between Falkirk and Grangemouth. It now connects sixteen local communities through extensive path networks, and is a popular destination for visitors seeking outdoor activities.
PBA was involved from the initial concept stage of this project in 2006, and we prepared the business plan that underpinned Falkirk Council’s successful bid for £25 millionof BIG Lottery funding.
We provided a range of services, including advice on project changes in response to changing markets, economic assessment, and guidance on organisational structure and governance up to project opening.
